    Removing roadpaint from wheel wells?

I`ve run into a number of vehicles with roadpaint on the wheel wells. I`1000 able to remove paint overspray on metal, but how do y'all practise and then on the plastic wheel wells?

Best and fastest way I have found is with a plastic razor bract. The paint splatters should pop right off the plastic.

Spraying WD-40 on it should work.

It is faster to paint them if that is an option.

    I HATE road paint. :brick

I recently removed a ton of yellow road paint from a 2003 GMC Denali`s wheelwells and quarterpanels with a red AM claybar and a lot of elbow grease. Non very price effective, but it made pretty quick work of the horrific mess. I charged accordingly for the extra labor and clay.

    I Hate road pigment. :brick

Ditto that. I have squeamish results with Duplicolor`s Loftier Temp Paint in black...Information technology leaves a prissy matte finish and dries quickly. The overspray doesn`t stick to ANYTHING, it`s great. I tested past painting my stock wheels next to each other. I painted one at a time and felt the unpainted rim 10 mins later (dry out time)...No overspray. Once dry, clothes em and you`re set!

In the wheel wells I take used laqauer thinner and or minreal sprits with great results. The thinner should not be used on any plastic parts other than the wells. Follow this link to a chore that I did and volition give you the process that I used to fix it.

Proficient call Beemerboy. I simply used lacquar thinner recently to easily remove a large amount of paint overspray on a erstwhile Mercedes Benz chrome bumper. I thought it looked similar a big job, simply the thinner had the bumper overspray costless in near five minutes. I will definitely also try the thinner on the cycle wells next fourth dimension I face this problem. Thanks.

Re: Removing roadpaint from bicycle wells?

Lacquer thinner works slap-up simply Like Beemerboy said ... Go along information technology off the plastic pieces or it could remove the finish. These would be parts like mirrors, or the trim in front end of the windshield, or between the doors that are normally black, And fifty-fifty some of the grained plastic trim can be damaged. If in dubiety try a pocket-size area first.

Splatter sucks in the cycle wells....in fact, it sucks and then much that I ordered more than of Sprayway`s Machine Body Rubberized Under-coating from PAC last week. It has lasted longer than the spray paints I`ve used in the past, looks great, and I feel information technology provides more protection as well.

On plastic wheel wells I use gasoline.......
Metal bike wells I use 3M`s undercoating. It leaves a textured finish and you lot will never notice the pigment.

hey folks.when i recondition a vehicle for the used lot at the dealership, i spray the wheel wells on all vehicles with the rubberized undercoat. i detect it terminal a long time, and looks really make clean. if the vehicle is a 4 x4 i spray the frame also because alot of times information technology will stick out if you don`t.
